Community Dinner ​

• Update: After much discussion regarding the feasibility of sustaining Altrusa’s monthly Community Dinner and “To Go” Meal programs, it was agreed upon that the program has grown beyond our ability to maintain it with the resources currently available. We are deeply thankful for the many Altrusa sisters and community volunteers who have generously given their time, energy, and compassion over the years to make these dinners possible, particularly our three committee co-chairs: Judy Hodges, Lynne Cayer, and Sylvia Detscher. Because of their dedication, leadership, and support, we have been able to not only provide thousands of meals for countless individuals and families in our community, but also an opportunity for connection and friendship. 
  We are truly grateful to everyone who has been part of this program and for the continued support shown throughout the years. We remain hopeful that other projects and organizations in the area will continue reaching and supporting food-insecure individuals and families in our community.
  We are incredibly proud of all that our small, but dedicated group was able to accomplish through this program! All remaining funds from donations received will go towards purchasing snacks for teachers at the Inter-Lakes and Sandwich Central Elementary Schools to distribute to children in their classrooms.
